Our Story

We believe our passion for building world class real estate based on partnerships with quality architects and a myriad of consultants, who have all been proven with past projects, compounded with the ability to work with municipalities, towns and villages gives us an advantage. We strive to build the homes and spaces where our customers work, play and live, now and in the future. Based on the principles of form and function Coombs Development Corp would not participate in any project they would not be proud to live in or work in. We put our name behind every project we are involved with so you know we stand behind the project today and forever.

Coombs Development Corp is a medium size development company with long roots in British Columbia. We live here, work here, play here and raise our families here. Formed in 1995 by siblings Greg and Tanya Coombs, who share a passion for everything real estate. The company has experienced phenomenal success over the last twenty-five years which allows us the unique opportunity to be directly involved with projects that give back to families and communities.

3835 Main St.

3835 Main Street, Vancouver, BC holds a special place in CDC’s portfolio as one of our first commercial developments. CDC performed site assessment, site acquisition, development services, project management and subsequent property management of the development. The site was purchased in 2007, 27’ wide by 120’ deep posing unique difficulties to efficiently design and redevelop. Originally a stage coach stop between Vancouver and New Westminster, the site was vacant for several years after a fire destroyed the original structure. The site was developed into a two storey retail building and is now occupied by a successful local restaurant. The development acts as a community gathering spot and aided in the revitalization of the surrounding area. Email

3950/58 Main St.

3950 & 3958 Main Street, Vancouver, BC was acquired early in 2012 as demand for new retail space along Main St. was at a premium. Main Street “has been named one of North America’s 15 coolest streets” by Cushman & Wakefield. The transition of the neighbourhood and its close proximity to 3835 Main St. made this redevelopment an easy decision. When purchased the site was occupied by a 1930’s converted residential structure, which had seen better days. The existing structure was demolished, recycled and a new state of the art retail development constructed. Anchored by an award winning restaurant and a local produce market the project has been warmly received. Email

2315/17 Cambie St.

2315 & 2317 Cambie Street, Vancouver, B.C. was purchased in 2009. At the time the building was occupied by a used car repair shop. Originally built as a diesel engine repair shop by one of Granville Island’s logging companies, the site held considerable charm and history once uncovered from decades of neglect. The location was centre stage to the Vancouver Olympic Games in 2010 and benefitted from the rapid redevelopment of the area as the gateway to Vancouver.

The property was restored and retrofitted with a modern retail frontage with special attention placed on keeping the heritage and workmanship of the original building visible to the public. Two active retail premises occupy the building and the surrounding area has experienced a building boom from rapid transit with some of the highest foot traffic in Vancouver. Email

2323/25 Cambie St.

2323 & 2325 Cambie Street, Vancouver, B.C. was purchased in 2014 and a complete renovation to the existing structure was quickly undertaken. In a neighborhood with rapidly changing demographics and ever increasing density, the decision was made to maximize retail exposure with a standalone building. The building was divided into two 2,200 sq. ft. retail spaces and was quickly occupied by two independant restaurants.

The property was stripped down to the core and rebuilt along with a complete re-energization. The site is adjacent to 2315 & 2317 Cambie Street so extra care was taken to create a building that would complement the neighbouring property. Email

Mountain Side

Mountain Side is a series of 30 modern farmhouse-style family townhomes designed to fit into the existing neighbourhood. Twenty-one of the thirty homes are designed as three-bedrooms, with larger units on the corners to frame the development. The home sizes range between 1,136 sq. ft. and 1,551 sq. ft. Visitor parking is provided throughout the site’s central circulation. Short term bicycle parking racks are located at the entry and in various green spaces. Private outdoor space is provided through a variety of porches and oversized decks. Community green spaces are positioned to integrate the development with the adjacent linear park.

The homes are located within walking distance to the community centre, town centre, day care, schools and transit. Pemberton, B.C. is a special place which still retains an outdoorsy, small town feel. Located just a 2.5 hour drive from Vancouver and a 20-minute drive from the world famous Whistler/Blackcomb four seasons resort. Located in a vast green-belt valley in the Coastal Mountains, Pemberton is truly a gem.
